Positive Insight Psychology respects the privacy of the individuals who visit our website or request information. In general, individuals visiting Positive Insight Psychology's website do so anonymously, without revealing any personal information.

 

Client Information

Positive Insight Psychology will not collect any personal information about you (that is, your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address) unless you provide it to us voluntarily through visible means of data entry or collection. If you do not want your personal information collected, please do not submit it to us. You may supply information by sending an e-mail to Positive Insight Psychology. Please be aware that by using this site and sending information to Positive Insight Psychology electronically, you consent to transborder and international transmission of any data that you may choose to supply us. Information transmissions to this site and e-mails sent to us may not be secure. Given the inherent operation and nature of the Internet, all Internet transmissions are done at your own risk.

Purpose of holding information

The information is gathered as part of the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the client’s condition, and is seen only by the psychologist. Information collected through this site may be supplied to affiliates of Positive Insight Psychology and other companies Positive Insight Psychology has asked to perform work for me under contract. Though I make every effort to preserve user privacy, I may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein I have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on my website. Positive Insight Psychology will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your permission, and I will take appropriate measures to safeguard the personal information shared with me. The information is retained in order to document what happens during sessions, and enables the psychologist supplied of relevant and informed psychological service.

Request for access to client information

At any stage, clients may request to see information about them kept on file. The psychologist may discuss the contents with them and / or give them a copy. Please note, there will be an administration charge based on the fees set out by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) in Melbourne. All requests by clients for access of information held about them should be lodged with the Principal, Tamara Lovett. These requests will be responded to within 14 days and an appointment will be made if necessary for clarification purposes.


Concerns

If you have a concern about the management of your personal information, please inform the Director of Positive Insight Psychology. Upon request, you can obtain a copy of the National Privacy Principals, which describe your rights and how you information should be handled. Ultimately, if you wish to lodge a formal complaint about the use of, or access to, you personal information, you may do so with the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner on 1300 363 992 or GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 1042.
